After obtaining a degree in German Language and Literature at the University of São Paulo I was looking for a master’s degree that would allow me to develop simultaneously my most varied interests in the field, and this freedom to explore different disciplines only CLE can offer.

Mulhouse is an amazing city that has allowed me not only to develop my skills in the program languages, but also to deepen my knowledge of the German language and the culture of the German-speaking countries due to the privileged location justminutes away from the border with Germany and Switzerland. The Université de Haute-Alsace certainly exceeded all expectations by providing a range of cultural activities in addition to regular classes, such as museum visits, theater plays and musical performances.

Italy made it possible for me to discover a completely new world full of diversity in each new region visited, illustrating everything that was presented during the various courses offered by the Università di Bologna.

CLE has given me incredible memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life, whether it's a cultural trip followed by new culinary discoveries or a quiet night rediscovering classic movies under the moonlight in Piazza Maggiore.

This master's degree is the ideal choice for literature lovers and language enthusiasts like me, and I have no doubt that these varied academic experiences combined with the personal growth made possible by daily contact with people from all over the world have become an important asset for my professional life.

Pia Aurelia Scheiblhuber, Germany (intake 2017-2019)

Federica Ambroso, Italy (Intake 2015-2017)

Hello everyone, my name is Federica Ambroso. After graduating in Modern Literature at the University of Bologna and having had two wonderful Erasmus experiences in Greece (study and internship in a publishing house), I decided to apply for the master CLE. Thanks to the CLE I had the opportunity to study in two beautiful towns, Bologna and Thessaloniki, to perfect my knowledge of modern Greek and to broad my horizons, through lectures, conferences, guided tours, but above all through the daily and very stimulating experience of a multicultural environment. To share projects and experiences with people from all over the world, to travel, to develop listening and adaptation skills, to get constantly involved ... This and much more is the master CLE!

Elisabet Carbó, Spain (Intake 2014 -2016)

Hello everyone, my name is Elisabet Carbó. I come from Barcelona, where I obtained a double degree in Translation and Interpretation and French Philology. After a master's degree in language didactics in Barcelona, I wanted to resume literary studies and that's where the CLE adventure began. First in Strasbourg, then in Bologna, these two years were full of beautiful discoveries, both from an intellectual and a personal perspective. Thanks to this program I was able to perfect my language skills, to reflect deeply on the interaction between cultures and to develop my skills on translation and literary analysis, surrounded by people who have turned this experience into something unforgettable. Not only did the Master CLE allow me to broaden my horizons, but it also opened the doors of the next stage of my career: at the end of this course I was hired by the University of Bologna as a teacher of Catalan language and literature, job that I am currently holding down and that allows me to collaborate with the CLE family. Welcome and good luck!

Walter Alberisio, Switzerland (Intake 2012-2014)

My name is Walter Alberisio. After I graduated in French and Philosophy at the University of Lausanne, I began to work in a school of the same city. I’ve found quickly Switzerland boring and I missed so much the literature’s world and my student life.
As I’m definitely in love with Italy (I already made an Erasmus in Venice during my Bachelor), I tried to enter the Master CLE. I chose the Universities of Bologna and Strasbourg in order to come back in Italy and to discover the french academic world during the second year.
I had a wonderful experience in two European student cities with colleagues coming from all over the world. My linguistic competences have upgraded really fast, I discovered so much different cultures and I have now friends on four of the five continents.

Maria Shakhray, Russia (Intake 2012-2014)

Hello to all future CLE students and welcome to the CLE world!
My name is Maria Shakhray and I come from Russia. After graduating from Moscow State University I won a scholarship to study at Erasmus Mundus CLE program – and this is how the great adventure began.
During the two years of my Master, I met friends coming from China, Greece, Macedonia, Georgia, Brazil, Switzerland, Mexico, Albania, Iran, France, Argentina… indeed from all over the world! Four years after, I can still remember every detail of our fantastic experience: our conversations and musical evenings, our wonderful trips and guided tours, all the seminars, conferences, films and books we enjoyed together. We indeed shared every new experience, including even national holidays: it was during my two CLE-years that I learnt to celebrate both Catholic and Orthodox Easter and Christmas!
So, you see, CLE is definitely more than a study program: it creates great friendship, as well as opens your mind to a number of totally new ideas, dreams and projects, a great part of which you start realizing already during the two Master years, while studying, travelling and discovering world.
Good luck and welcome everybody willing to become part of our CLE international community! See you in Bologna!
