Mots-CLE Series

The "Mots-CLE" took shape in 2014 with the publication of the first edition of the Research Horizons of young PhD students from the Erasmus Mundus Master in European Literary Cultures. The first volume gathers several articles presented during a conference in Bologna, that took place in July 2013. The articles and the conference are important for their content and for their symbolism: the students, enrolled in various European universities, showed that friendship, collaboration and the sharing of languages, cultures and personal histories not only enrich the research itself but they also improve all individuals and society.

The organization of these conferences, each year, represents a success on several levels: the first steps of the CLE Master Alumni into the world of research continue to be encouraged and assisted; the group is growing in size, with the older students trying to meet and discuss together. This represents above all the desire to believe in the power of youth to change the world, in an intercultural way.

Horizons de recherche / Research Horizons III

Edited by Anna Paola Soncini Fratta, in collaboration with Fulvia Balestrieri, Clémence Bauer, Paola Fossa
I libri di Emil, Odoya, 2017
Alumni CLE Recherche, Conference Proceedings from June 26th, 2016

The fourth volume of the series Horizons de recherche / Horizons de recherche III collects the Mulhouse conference proceedings in June 26th, 2016. This volume once again proposes original research conducted by young academics, while also giving the floor to those Alumni CLE who have entered the business world, though they too took part in the same course of literary studies. Our «Research Horizons» – as much as the European commission’s program for research and innovation, entitled «Horizon 2020» – wish to enrich a research without frontiers and its transition into work. If the fourth edition indeed provides results for research linked to literature and discussions based on cultures and cultural differences, it also pays close attention to the professional sector.
This initiative, by young people, for young people, aims to widen horizons, so that they can make the most of the opportunities coming their way. The Master CLE has given them the opportunity to create a space for themselves in which they can provide their feedback.

The third volume of the series, Research Horizons II, collects the Thessaloniki conference proceedings from June 25th to June 26th, 2015. This volume once again proposes original research conducted by young academics, while also giving the floor to those Alumni CLE who have entered the business world, though they too took part in the same course of literary studies.
This novelty is very important as for some time now the CLE has been collaborating with the business world, in particular through the H.E.A.D. project (Humanities and Enterprises Annual Dialogue) as several professionals have been invited to participate in training the students and to propose research projects.

Récit et peinture / Narration and Painting

Edited by Anna Paola Soncini Fratta, in collaboration with Fulvia Balestrieri, Andrea Guiducci, Annalisa Lombardi
I libri di Emil, Odoya, 2015
Alumni CLE Recherche, Conference Proceedings from July 4th, 2014

This second volume is the result of a meeting that took place in Strasburg in July 2014. This meeting consisted of a group of doctoral students enrolled in several European universities, who participated in the CLE.
Encouraging dialogue through research, and therefore discussion among young researchers still appears to be today the best way to give voice to their work as well as to their insights into the challenges of literary criticism and humanities.

The “keywords” gathered here form a valuable testament: they reflect the memorable moments of the scientific and cultural encounters of a group of PhD students from several European universities, all of whom have completed the CLE.

In a first scientific exchange in July 2013, the PhD students proposed what they consider their “Research Horizons”. This volume is dedicated to several domains in several languages, from the Middle Ages to the present day, involving literature, linguistics and cinema. We invite the reader to discover here within the research of tomorrow at the crossroads of new methodologies, critical discussion and transnational dialogue.
